Echoes of Old England

On my 30th birthday in 2010 I decided to embark on a journey that will probably take the rest of my life. I decided to start writing a gazetteer of all the haunted houses and hidden histories I could find - covering the whole of the British Isles. My interest is investigating those places thought to still resonate with old energy. The scale of this project is so large that even if I complete one county each year I will still be very old, if not be a ghost myself when it is finished!

This blog is both a photographic record of places I visit, as well as tit-bits of information I find interesting enough to share!

My first book will cover my home county of Cambridgeshire, with a separate section for the old county of Huntingdonshire. I still use the historic counties of England, so you may find that some villages I visit are listed in the 'wrong' county, but I assure you they are not!
